Work Isolation Mode enabled

When Work Isolation Mode is enabled (On) for the vault’s Main area or work areas, the document type’s default workflow is disabled and documents are changed by simply first checking out a working copy of the document, editing it, and checking it back in. When a working copy of a document is created, the copy is placed on the worklist of the user who created the working copy. All changes that the user makes to a working copy are isolated from other users’ view. Until the user submits (checks in) the working copy, the other users will only see the previously submitted revision.

A variation of Work Isolation Mode enabled is also available, but rarely used. The option is On, Read-Only, in which no changes to documents may be made in the vault’s Main area. Instead, they must first be assigned to a work area in order to be revised under the Work Isolation Mode of the work area. The Work Isolation Mode of a work area can be enabled or disabled, but not On, Read-Only.
